Welcome

On behalf of the World Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons, it is a great honour to invite you to Kos, the island of Hippocrates, in Greece for the 18th Annual World Congress. The 18th World Congress will be hosted in Kos International Convention Centre (KICC), which is considered to be among the most elegant, functional and autonomous convention centres in the South-eastern Mediterranean region.

The island of Kos is a member of the European Federation of Conference Towns (EFCT) and besides its natural beauty and its breath-taking golden sandy beaches; Kos is steeped in monuments, remnants from its glorious past dating back to antiquity, the Byzantine Era and Venetian times up to the present.

WSCTS 2008 scientific program will be complemented by an exceptional social program for both delegates and accompanying persons, exploiting every cultural and entertainment highlight that the island of Kos offers.

We look forward welcoming you to the Island of Kos to revive the Hippocratic Oath, while exploring the future of our profession.

Congress Chairman:
Sotirios N. Prapas (Greece)

Congress Co-Chairs:
Antonio Maria Calafiore (Italy), Darryl Shore (United Kingdom), Ion Bellenis (Greece)
