Abstracts Submission

Abstracts for the 18th WSCTS World Congress can only be submitted electronically. Authors are invited to submit their abstracts by 1 January 2008. All abstracts will be reviewed and authors will be notified about acceptance of their abstract by 15 February 2008. Original contributions on any of the topics of the congress are welcomed.


Please note that when submitting your paper the presenting author must ALWAYS be the submitting author or you are required to denote the presenting author on step three of the process. All correspondence will be sent directly to you at your e-mail address given. Please, keep your unique login and password which you will receive upon your completion of your abstract submission. You can amend your abstract until abstract submission deadline. Please consider that only completed submissions will enter the review process and all incomplete drafts will be deleted from the system.


Kindly notice that accepted abstract authors cannot make presentations without being registered for the conference.

Guidelines for abstract submission:

  • The abstract language is English
  • Title should be written in CAPITAL letters.
  • Title should not exceed 100 characters including spacing
  • The abstract text should not exceed 500 words. The use of tables or figures is not allowed.
  • The abstract must consist of four paragraphs labeled BACKGROUND, METHODS, RESULTS, and CONCLUSIONS.
  • Please mark the category that best describes your abstract, from the topics listed.
  • Indicate the preferred type of presentation: oral, poster or video presentation.

Instructions for Oral presentation

Only presentation in Power Point format will be allowed. Please, make sure that you bring your presentation on a CD Rom or USB Stick; floppy disks are discouraged; the use of personal laptops for presentation is not allowed.

Material for presentation will be uploaded in the Technical Assistance Centre at least three hours before the presentation. We encourage you to check your presentation in the Technical Assistance centre well in advance. For the early morning sessions, please present your CD Rom at the Technical Assistance Centre the day before.

Instructions for Poster presentation

Posters must be brought in person by the author and should not be mailed in advance. The required size is 1, 80 m (height) x 0, 80 m (width). Illustrations must be produced heavily and clearly, so that all posters can be readable from a distance of 1.5 meters. At the top of the poster, in bold lettering of about 2.5 to 3 cm size, please provide the title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s), and affiliation.

Instructions for Video Presentation

The maximum duration of the video must be 10 minutes. The video presentation must consist of a written abstract, to be submitted through the abstract submission system selecting the correspondent category (video), plus a copy of the video on a CD/DVD, that should be sent along with a short written summary to the WSCTS 2008 Secretariat:
